Albino Cortellazzi has been the accompanist of the Great Western Male Choir (formerly the Rembrandt Male Choir) since January 2004 and is greatly appreciated and respected by all members associated with the choir for his talent, cooperation and friendship.

Migrating from Italy in 1961 at eleven years of age, Albino developed a keen interest in music and two years later began piano lessons. His skilfulness in the subject led to a scholarship with the NSW Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, where he eventually studied piano under the late Australian Concert pianist, Isadore Goodman. Graduating with a diploma of piano teaching in 1976, Albino began working as a freelance piano accompanist, engaged by competent singers and several choirs. Presently he is associated with the Marconi Club Choir, the Marayong Church Choir and an active organist of St. Benedict’s Church, Smithfield since 1966.

Our choir has been fortunate in having his services since January 2004.
